Klimt at the Belvedere is a thoughtfully crafted exhibition brochure celebrating the rich detail & sensual beauty of Gustav Klimt’s artwork. Created for the Belvedere Palace’s summer showcase, the design pairs refined typography with Klimt’s intricate visual language to create an immersive & elegant experience. The goal was to capture the sophistication of the exhibition while honoring the artist’s signature aesthetic. Translating his expression of opulence & emotion into a printed piece that feels both timeless & contemporary.
The design began with a study of Klimt’s evolution, from his early role in the Art Nouveau movement, through his celebrated Golden Period, & into his later explorations of texture & symbolism. Each section of the brochure reflects a chapter of his artistic journey, connected through careful pacing, composition, & hierarchy. Typography & Layout: Chosen to feel as graceful as the art it presents, the type system balances structure with fluidity, echoing Klimt’s ornamental style without overwhelming it. Design Approach: Gold accents, refined grids, & flowing typefaces introduce subtle luxury while maintaining readability & respect for the artwork itself.
The design embodies Klimt’s visual richness while allowing his work to take center stage. Every typographic decision & layout detail reinforces the sensuality, precision, & allure that define his legacy. The final brochure is a visual experience that invites viewers to linger, explore, & connect with the timeless beauty of Klimt’s art.
